This stunning Elie Saab couture gown represents the ultimate in gold wedding attire. The full sweeping skirt makes a grand statement, as does the ornate embroidery that decorates the entire gown. Take a close look at the delicate illusion neckline and sheer sleeves that are so finely embellished; I love the way the embroidery on the bodice flows seamlessly into the neckline. A shimmering golden band accentuates the waistline to complete the effect. This gown calls for a very formal bouquet made from roses and orchids.

For a completely different take on a golden bridal gown, check out this lovely vintage inspired dress by Sue Wong. The beaded straps and band around the empire waistline shape the gown beautifully, and then the beading flows down into the skirt. The starburst design and godet skirt have a marvelous Jazz Age flair that would make this the perfect dress for a vintage inspired wedding. Imagine it in a chic supper club with a hot jazz band – absolutely stunning!

Gold Chantilly lace, an illusion neckline, and three-quarter sleeves make this Rivini gown a natural choice for an elegant fall wedding. Simonetta gown by Rivini.

Sophisticated and elegant is the way to describe this gold Chantilly lace wedding gown by Rivini. If ever a golden gown could be considered to be understated, this would be the one. The simple silhouette is a nice balance for the luxurious metallic lace, and the illusion neckline and three-quarter sleeves are right on trend. The scalloped lace border at the top of the neckline is an especially pretty detail. This gold gown would be beautiful on anyone from a young bride in her 20s to a more mature bride walking down the aisle for the second time.

Glittering gold lines give this Monique Lhuillier wedding dress a bit of a modern art feeling. It is an unusual approach to gold accents, and a fun alternative to the more traditional floral and lace embellishments. A dusting of gold down the skirt completes the glittering fantasy. This fresh contemporary gold gown would be fabulous with modern golden crystal earrings for the bride. A sleek bouquet will complete the effect.

Gold is also a fantastic color for formal bridesmaid dresses. Avoid the bad bridesmaid stereotypes of the shiny gold lame dress, and choose something like this elegant gold dupioni dress by Alvina Valenta. The soft sheen of dupioni tones down the gold color so that it will not become overwhelming, even on a large group of bridesmaids. The fluted strapless neckline is simply exquisite. All in all, a gorgeous golden option for your bridal party!

Finally, consider livening up your wedding attire with gold accessories. Whether you choose a golden bridal gown or prefer a more classic ivory hue, metallic accessories are fabulous. The warm and golden tones of the Swarovski pearl necklace would look stunning for the bride, bridesmaids, or the mother of the bride. Use it to add color to a ivory gown or as an accent to a rich gold or brown bridesmaid dress.  And what can be said about the golden D’orsay pumps with the crystal bow – they are truly divine. Definitely a worthy splurge, as they will be fantastic to wear again with your favorite little black dress. All in all, the richness of gold is a terrific wedding style trend.
