Lace, tulle, and ruffled wedding gowns have been extremely popular, and a new trend is emerging: softer bridal gowns with fuller skirts. It is a lovely, romantic take on the classic ball gown, and it works beautifully for any season. Take a look at these fabulous full skirted wedding dresses.

If you love ballgowns but are not crazy about strapless, consider an illusion neckline. This Alvina Valenta dress has the popular sweetheart neckline, but with lovely sheer illusion shoulders. It is a softer look than the standard strapless neckline and would be quite comfortable to wear. The soft layers of the skirt are pretty and romantic, and the beaded sash is a lovely waist-defining detail.

This Vera Wang wedding dress has a great combination of serious sparkle and soft fluffiness. The boldly beaded crystal band around the top of the bodice is dramatic and glamorous, while the fluffy tulle skirt is just as romantic as can be. You would definitely want to match the jewelry to the band on the dress, because it is such a strong feature. The softly tinted tulle tones down the boldness of the sparkly band in a way that a strong white would not.

Do you think that soft and sheer cannot also be high drama? The voluminous skirt with the wide horsehair trim is very romantic and also sophisticated. The soft sherbet blush color is so lovely and sweet. Pair a pretty headband and drop pearl earrings with this beautiful dress. It would be a gorgeous dress for a grand mansion or formal garden wedding.

A structured lace covered bodice plus a full skirt embellished with dimensional appliques is the ultimate in romantic elegance. I love the way the lace on this Jim Hjelm dress flows down into the frothiness at the top of the skirt, and then down into the more lightly embellished hemline. This style of dress would be fantastic for an outdoor wedding or one indoors. Be sure to get lots of pictures of your ethereal wedding gown!
