It is summer time, and one of the best tastes (and smells!) of the season has got to be juicy ripe peaches. The color peach is absolutely lovely as a signature wedding color, and real fresh peaches make a wonderful detail to include in any summertime celebration. Whether you are a genuine Georgia peach or just love the concept, find out how to plan a summer wedding inspired by peaches.

Incorporating fresh peaches into your wedding is a snap. I love how a single perfect peach makes an exquisite place card holder. And look how easy it would be to do this for your own wedding – simply write the names of each guest in calligraphy onto little scrolls of paper and pin to the peach with a pearl tipped pin. Easy elegance.

Naturally you will want to use the color peach in your wedding in a big way. It is such a soft and romantic hue that there is no fear of overdoing it. Peach is always lovely with ivory (think of “peaches and cream”, but also combines beautifully with other colors, including mint, robin’s egg blue, mocha, lavender, yellow, and even gold. It tends to work best when used in a slightly vintage way, which is why the peach bridesmaid dresses above look so perfect with the ivory lace bridal gown. Delicate jewelry would be wonderful for the bridesmaid gifts to wear with the peachy dresses.

There are many beautiful wedding flowers which come in shades of peach. I love how the bouquet above includes some deeper peach tones to add depth and interest to the floral arrangement. Peach is definitely a color that the bride could choose for her own bouquet while still looking as traditional as the classic white nosegay. Also remember that it is a very flattering tone against the skin, so pull some of those lovely peachy tones from your flowers up towards your face with a peach blush on your cheeks or a peach colored pearl necklace around your neck.

For the centerpieces, you almost have to include some fresh ripe peaches in your tablescape. Look how pretty the peaches are in the vintage wooden box in the centerpiece above. They look marvelous with the peach, apricot, pink, and yellow tones in the adjacent flowers. This summer wedding centerpiece captures the perfect spirit of the season: elegant, easy, and a bit vintage-rustic. The whole thing looks as though it could have been made using flowers and fruit picked fresh from the bride’s garden that morning.

Homemade peach pie with freshly made vanilla ice cream would be one great option for the wedding dessert, particularly for a country wedding. If a traditional tiered wedding cake is nmore your style, just look at how beautifully you can decorate a cake with peaches. The cake is relatively simple in design: peach frosting, white pearl dots, and a creamy striped frosting bow. But what makes this cake really special is the way in which it is displayed. The cake stand is an upturned peach bushel basket, and the table is decorated with ripe peaches and pretty roses.

Don’t forget to send your guests off with a peach themed wedding favor. Mini peach pies all wrapped up and ready to go certainly make a fantastic favor idea. I also love the idea of just displaying ripe peaches in baskets with the invitation to “pick a peach”. Sometimes the best favors are the simplest, and this would be a perfect way to wrap up a peach of a summer wedding.
