Wedding Hairstyle and Accessory Ideas for Short Hair

It seems like most of the popular wedding hairstyles are designed for brides with long flowing hair. But plenty of women who happen to have short hair also get married, and they need a pretty way to style their hair too. Check out these fantastic ideas for wedding hairstyles and hair accessories for brides with short hair.

A sleek bob is a pretty and polished hairstyle that always looks great. It is interesting because a bob can look geometric and modern, yet it also lends itself well to retro looks. The most important tip is to have your bob professionally styled so it comes out very smooth, with every hair in its place. Or you could opt for a 1920′s flapper inspired style and wear a waved bob. Tiny little birdcage veils or cage veils work wonderfully with shorter hair, since a long veil will tend to slip out of the hair. One great thing about keeping your hair on the short side for your wedding is that you can showcase a really fabulous pair of bridal earrings.

The bride above looks absolutely lovely with soft fringy bangs framing her face. The wide piece of lace makes for a unique headpiece and it looks just gorgeous in her dark hair. This is a softer more natural take on the bob hairstyle.

If you have enough hair to pull back the front, that is another terrific wedding hairstyle. In this case, the bride went with a retro 1960s inspired look with the pillbox hat and vintage veil. Notice how she really played up her eye makeup, which looks fantastic with her hair pulled back from her face. The long sleeve lace wedding dress and pearl bridal jewelry enhance the classic effect. A nice thing about pulling back the front of your hair is that it will make it easier to anchor a traditional veil.

Who says that very short hair cannot be romantic and feminine? Not this bride! Look at how utterly gorgeous she is in her close cropped hair with the floral headband. I love how she wore the flower in her hair to complement the floral corsage on her simple wedding dress. Wearing your hair in a close style like this exudes a confidence that is always beautiful.

Last but not least, if you are dying to try out one of the trendy buns or braids for your wedding hairdo, consider getting extensions. If you have it done at a reputable salon, the results will look very natural, so it will also look good enough to wear loose if you prefer. The best extensions are made from human hair, and if properly installed and cared for can last for months. It could be pretty fun to have long hair for your honeymoon too. Of course, if you love your short hair, you should definitely work with it for your wedding, because short haired brides can look very chic and stylish.
