If there is one thing that can be really tough for brides, it is finding a wedding gown that both she and her mother can agree on. Nine times out of ten, the bride wants something modern and maybe even a little sexy, but her mother wants to see her in a much more traditional gown. And if your mom is paying for your wedding dress, if she doesn’t like it, she probably won’t buy it. The good news is that there are some wedding gowns that are so breathtaking that they are sure to please even the pickiest mother of the bride, while also making the bride herself feel gorgeous. Take a look at these beautiful wedding dresses that even your mom will love.

This fabulous satin trumpet gown by Amsale is ideal for the bride who wants to show her figure and the mom who doesn’t like revealing dresses. Everything is covered, but the dress skims the body in a very figure-flattering silhouette. The one shoulder design is very chic and the big bow is sure to appeal to your mother’s traditional side. Wear it with big pearl and crystal drop earrings and a long plain veil to complete the effect.

If you are getting married in the winter, it would be hard to top this gorgeous long sleeve gown by Carolina Herrera. I love the combination of the clean lines and the asymmetrical neckline. It is hard to find a long sleeve wedding dress with a fully covered bustline that doesn’t look incredibly conservative, but this one manages to achieve the perfect balance. The off the shoulder neckline opens up the area around your face beautifully, but it covers enough to please even the most modest mother of the bride’s tastes. With the open neck, you can wear a pretty necklace as part of your bridal jewelry set.

If your mother is dying to see you in a wedding dress with lace, try this lovely Christos bridal gown. The feather-weight lace illusion neckline is absolutely exquisite and has none of the “tablecloth” appearance that some brides associate with lace. I love how the lace continues down the bodice and lightly drips onto the skirt. The lace, the illusion neckline, and the natural waistline are all current trends, yet this dress is also utterly timeless. What’s not to love?

Is your mother insisting that you try on “princess” dresses when you prefer something a bit less poufy? Enter this stunner by Kenneth Pool. It is decked out with enough sparkle to fulfill any mother’s royal fantasies, but the full A-line skirt is not at all poufy. Wear this dress when you want something sparkly that won’t make you feel like a wedding cake topper. Besides, just think about how tiny that gorgeous jeweled belt will make your waist look!
