Certainly pearl jewelry should be part of a pearl theme wedding. I love the idea of wearing pearls, but in a more unique way than the classic strand of pearls. Consider something a bit more avant garde, such as a pearl lariat necklace with crystal and pearl tassels. Pair it with a wedding dress with a low neckline and minimal embellishment so that the necklace can take center stage. Or choose a gown with a low cut back and let the lariat drip down into your back. Imagine how fabulous that would look!

Fresh flower bouquets are beautiful of course, but so is a radiant bouquet made of pearls and crystals. Best of all, it is a simple bouquet to take on as a DIY project – just wire drilled pearls or pearl beads into a cluster. Add a few crystals, tie it all up with a pretty satin ribbon, and you will have a unique yet timeless bouquet. A cluster of pearls makes the perfect coordinating boutonierre for the groom.

Ultra glamorous pearl wedding cake by Martha Stewart.
There are a number of beautiful wedding cake designs that use pearls. Larger than life sized pearls in several sizes can be used to completely cover the cake for a modern take on the traditional wedding gem. Or you can take your inspiration from the glamorous Martha Stewart cake ablove and decorate your cake with ropes of pearls that look like necklaces. How sweet is the little jewelry box cake topper on this cake? Adorable!

You will definitely want to incorporate some pearls into your wedding centerpieces. For a formal wedding, it is hard to imagine anything more fabulous than these tall floral arrangements with elegantly draped strands of pearls. For a simpler wedding, it looks terrific to fill low vases with pearl beads instead of just using water in the vases. I love how pink pearls were mixed in with the white ones in the picture above. I would however recommend using fresh flowers instead of silks. All in all, a pearl theme wedding is an absolutely fantastic idea!
