Elegant Wedding Favor Ideas

Traditional wedding etiquette calls for the newlyweds to present their wedding guests with small gifts as a token of their appreciation for their presence. The wedding favors are often placed on the dinner tables, but they can also be artfully arranged on a side table for a pretty effect. Obviously you want your gifts to be something that people will actually be happy to receive, so it is important to put some thought into them. These are some ideas for elegant wedding favors.

Personally, I like wedding favors that are useful. It is always nicer to get a gift that you can use, rather than another little knick knack that will end up in a drawer full of random stuff. Bottle openers or bottle stoppers are one idea for a favor that is both practical and elegant. They would be especially appropriate for a vineyard wedding or a wine and cheese theme reception. Look for bottle stoppers or openers that tie in with your wedding theme. For instance, choose autumn leaf motif favors for a fall wedding, or a double happiness symbol for an Asian-inspired wedding.

Candle holders are another great option for a wedding favor that is stylish and useful. There are many different beautiful votive candle holders available from which to choose. For a very chic reception, frosted glass votive holders with a chandelier design are fabulous. Imagine them in a ballroom or for a fancy tented reception. Or select metallic candle holders, such as glass votives with a graceful gold pattern on them. Metallic accents are huge for weddings right now, so that would be a very nice idea. It is always terrific when one element can do double duty.

They make an elegant presentation, and are just a little different than the usual wedding favor. Some of the fancy coaster sets are decorated with pretty motifs such as cherry blossoms or calla lilies. I particularly like the coasters which can hold a photo. It gives your guests the ability to personalize their favors, which makes them extra special. So many wedding favors are personalized with the names of the bride and groom, but I think people prefer it when they can put their own personal stamp on the gifts, don’t you?

Finally, if you would like to give an edible favor, you can’t go wrong with chocolates. Very fancy high quality truffles or chocolates presented in a beautiful box will always be appreciated by your guests. It can be nice to choose chocolates that somehow coordinate with your wedding theme or motif. For example, select gourmet chocolates made in the shape of the Eiffel tower if you are planning a wedding with a French flair. Or simply choose a pretty bow in your wedding colors if you would like to keep things simple. When you select a thoughtful and elegant wedding favor, your guests are sure to love it, whatever it may be.
